“The process of creating Preface was truly unique and representative of the times we are living in today. I was able to choreograph on a pod of dancers almost entirely through Zoom, some days from home and some days from separate studios. I’d love for this work to remind the viewers of the vibrance and beauty of the city we share, while simultaneously giving them a feeling of life and a sense of gratitude for the fact that the sun always rises.”

The Liberty Hotel is also where Boston Ballet celebrated
the unveiling of its new brand and move to the Citizens
Bank Opera House in 2009 with a celebratory performance by BB dancers, merging streetwear and ballet, plus a fashion show done all on pointe. The Liberty Hotel has been a partner and supporter of Boston Ballet through the years and again provided a home and “stage” for this film in 2021.
